Topic - The research area of interest is identification and development of high potential employee

Problem statement

Human resource is the most vital resource in any organization, yet it is normally the poorly managed. Even though there is significant research on the topic of employee development, there is a gap on how to consciously identify and develop high potential employees (Delery & Roumpi, 2017). The identification and development of human resource is a strategic procedure for growth and continuity of an organization.

Purpose statement

The purpose of the study is to assess and understand the programs that are used for the identification and development of high potential employees.

Research questions

· How do you establish the right high potential employees?

· What are the skills required for high potential employees?

· How is a high potential employee program successful?

Independent variables

Existence and use of high potential employee programs – variable would be measured on a nominal scale on three different organizations (participants). The selection for these participants is done purposively on organizations that have and use high potential employee identification and development programs.

Dependent variables

DV1 – existence of a program for identification and development of high potential employees.

DV2 – uses of the high potential employee identification and development program.

DV3 – benefits of the program.

This will then be useful because if it is successfully analyzed and the right judgment developed, it will affect the adoption and use of such programs by organizations for strategic human resource development.
Methodology and design - A quantitative study design will be used.

Sample and location - The sample is made up of purposely sampled organizations that are using a program for identification and development of high potential employees.

Data collection - Data will be collected through interviews developed through literature review.

Data analysis - Collected data will be analyzed through descriptive analysis.

A one-way MANOVA will be used for the analysis of results from the study to determine whether and how programs for identification and development of high potential employees impact human resource.

Part B

The purpose of the 10 strategic point’s document is to ensure that the research is doable, valuable, and credible. This document is developed from researching literature and thus, it provides a guideline for the research in a succinct and summarized manner suitable for the research stakeholders e.g. supervisors and sponsors.
